A destination wedding is so much more than just a celebration of your special day. For this destination wedding, the wedding couple chose the breathtaking island of Zanzibar, off the coast of Tanzania, for a three-day wedding weekend. The Mrs Wedding Planner team collaborated with the bride and groom fulfilling their wishes, while providing a comprehensive wedding planning service. Mrs Wedding Planner selected the perfect five-star venue, the Hideaway of Nungwi Resort & Spa, as well as various vendors to meet the specific needs of the wedding couple and their international guests.

Most couples find planning a wedding daunting, add an unfamiliar country or unfamiliar language, and most will find wedding planning even more tedious. As experts in the event planning industry, focusing on international weddings and specialised events, this is where Mrs Wedding Planner excels. The Mrs Wedding Planner team specialises in creating stress-free inimitable events and experiences.
Mrs Wedding Planner selected the Hideaway of Nungwi Resort & Spa after touring several luxury resorts, during a scouting trip to Zanzibar, months in advance of the scheduled wedding date. Set between powder white sands, lush green gardens, and the crystal clear turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean, Hideaway of Nungwi had everything to offer - outstanding views, luxurious suites, and amazing excursions from underwater sports to Swahili spice tours. Our team selected the Hideaway of Nungwi Resort & Spa with the specific needs of the bride and groom in mind - love, tranquility, and sunshine.
Preparing for your big day is not just makeup glam and bubbly, but true joy, fun, and laughter with the ones you love! Our gorgeous bride, happy-go-lucky bridesmaids, and mini bride flower girl were full of fun using unique custom word bubble wedding props.
A tranquil space offering peace and relaxation is a true luxury when wedding guests are traveling in from all over the globe, so the Hideaway of Nungwi's Spa & Health Club was an absolute delight. All attending guests raved about the spa during the three-day wedding festivities.
Seating for the private wedding ceremony was kept traditionally simple and intimate. Mrs Wedding Planner kept with the wedding couple's white wedding theme arranging white chiavari guest chairs diagonally in short rows adorning some chairs with flowing white silk sashes. Keepsake handheld fans were placed on chairs as a momento.
The wedding ceremony was held at sunset on a large open-air veranda overlooking the Indian Ocean. The only thing more breathtaking than the view was the bride when she walked down the aisle.
This sunset wedding ceremony was absolutely lovely. Melodic piano music filled the open-air veranda when the bride walked down the aisle. The Mrs Wedding Planner team designed the solid ten-foot high canopy under which the wedding couple exchanged their marriage vows. The team worked with one of the best floral experts in Tanzania creating floral arrangements that complimented the white wedding theme. The wedding canopy was dressed in white silk, while our expert florist adorned the four posts of the wedding canopy with fresh white and ivory roses representing true love, purity, commitment, and spirituality.
After exchanging marriage vows an evening wedding reception was held. This reception was celebrated poolside with gratuitous infinity views of sky and water as a scenic backdrop complementing the easy-going vibe of the bride and groom.
Mrs Wedding Planner created a Zanzibari-themed wedding lounge tucked away from the dance floor for wedding guests seeking a simple poolside chat or drink. This wedding lounge was decorated with casual seating consisting of fluffy sofas, Indian rugs, Arabesque pillows, and lit standing lanterns for more ambience.
Instead of the ordinary cocktail hour, why not consider an open-bar for endless cocktails. For this Zanzibari wedding, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails were custom made for wedding guests including signature drinks utilising the many tropical flavors of the island of Zanzibar.
Keeping with flavors from the island of Zanzibar, wedding guests were treated to a wide range of starters including bhaji, samosas, and mandazi.
Grilled meat and seafood from marinated chicken and beef to giant prawns and fresh caught lobsters ... All made to order. Wedding guests were thoroughly spoiled with many tasty food options at this wedding.
The Green table included a large variety of vegetarian and vegan food options for wedding guests.
Mrs Wedding Planner was focused on keeping this wedding true to its destination roots. So the Mrs Wedding Planner team curated an area for photos inspired by the many fabled doors in Stone Town, Zanzibar, ornate symbols of wealth influenced by Arabic, Indian and Swahili traditions.
Mrs Wedding Planner understands that the location of your event should compliment your entertainment. Our team sourced traditonal Zanzibari acrobats to perform acrobatic stunts as live entertainment, needless to say everyone was in awe of this amazing act.
Continuing the theme of merging the cultural beauty of your destination with the entertainment of your special event, Mrs Wedding Planner created an authentic Zanzibari musical experience for this wedding by sourcing local musicians to play the traditional Ngoma and Taarab music of Zanzibar for wedding guests.
For the wedding reception dinner, the Mrs Wedding Planner team decided to keep the party going outdoors with family-style seating under a table length white canopy with starry string lighting. Fresh white and ivory roses were the main feature of floral arrangements, arranged tall in high floating blooms and arranged low in a full length table top garland.
Clear ghost chairs surrounded checkered ivory and white table linens continuing the ivory and white wedding theme.
Our expert photographer captured this true love moment as the bride and groom shared a kiss whilst cutting their three-tier wedding cake together.
